Qualifications
The goal of outdoor qualifications is to promote high standards of supervision and leadership so that both enjoyment and safety are enhanced, without compromising either the sport or the participation of others. They are valid throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland and are recognized by the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority (AALA).
Real Adventure works closely with providers of NGB courses and we work on many of their courses, training and assessing people every year. Please get intouch if you would like to find out more or come on a course.
Single Pitch Award
Training and Assessment Mike Margeson – Course Provider
This national award is aimed at people who wish to organize and supervise safe, effective and enjoyable climbing and abseiling sessions for relative novices on single pitch crags. As well as technical climbing skills you will also cover group management, choice of venues, access and the impact of our activity on the environment.
Mountain Leader Award (Summer)
Training and Assessment Giles Stone – Course Provider
These courses are for those people who wish to lead others in the mountains, hills and moorlands of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. This national award will help you to gain the additional knowledge, experience and self-confidence you need; covering group management, route planning, navigation, use of equipment security on steep ground and environmental/access issues.
Refresher Days and Weekends
We run refresher days/weekends on a regular basis for people who have completed the training course for MLA (Summer) and the SPA. Come along and polish up your skills before putting yourself forward for assessment.
